Marburg virus




 Rwanda is showing signs of progress in its battle against the Marburg virus outbreak, with recent data indicating a shift towards more recoveries than fatalities. This development comes as the country bolsters its response with the arrival of its first batch of vaccines.

In a press conference, on Sunday morning, the Minister of Health, Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana, provided an update on the outbreak’s status. “Since Marburg appeared in Rwanda, we’ve had 61 confirmed cases,” he reported. “Of these, 18 patients have recovered and been discharged, while 29 remain under medical care. Sadly, we’ve lost 14 individuals to the disease.”
